All is good under the impala hood

… or not?

The drama of yesterday is still ongoing. While Jared said all was well, Jensen’s aunt entered the chat and… well, she was not happy.

It’s funny how this seems to have turned into a Jared vs. Jensen thing. I didn’t look at it as Jared sending his ‘army’ against Jensen, but his follow up tweet about people not sending death threats definitely makes it seem like that’s what happened anyway.

I love the way he wrote that tweet too…he would be in true misery if anything happened?

For someone who is constantly on his phone, one has to wonder why he didn’t just call, but it’s not the Jared way. Judging by the traffic to my blog, he’s definitely on the losing side here. All the posts about his Twitter faux pas are hitting the numbers.

Jensen fans do not play either. He’s never in the wrong. And I guess per his Aunt, the damage is well and truly done.

I say they’re both wrong, and this drama is what happens when unstable people follow unstable person(s). This is also what happens when people lack boundaries and common sense and have a victim mentality. And this is what happens when people do things in a calculated and underhanded manner.

The biggest issue here is Jared was the right person to try this with. Instead of keeping quiet and letting what Jensen did sink in, he went looking for sympathy.

That never works.

Personally? I’m enjoying the drama. 😂 I ain’t got no dog in this fight.

What I’m Watching

… because you asked (not really) and I’m here to deliver.

Anyway, how are we all doing? I feel like I never blog anymore. I don’t really know why. I think the pandemic has just quietened the part of my brain that snarks about things. Or, I’m too busy lamenting the stupidity of real people to complain about fictional characters. I’m definitely not really watching much these days. Is it me or is there just too much to watch? And a lot of it is just juvenile (*looks at The Boys*), repetitive and boring.

Ironically, I’ve turned to superheros in these dark times! I’m a genuine Superman fan now. I take back all the times I called him boring. Sure, a lot of the content is lacking, but Superman is iconic for a reason.

On to the list…

Invincible (Amazon)

I watched the first two episodes of this. It’s not bad at all. It kind of has a The Boys/Watchmen feel to it. The end of the first episode was very graphic. I’m curious to see how it all ends. I’m low-key salty that the knockoff Superman isn’t like the real Superman, though. I have problems, I know.

Season 15

In honour of the last season, I will be watching and recapping the last two episodes of Supernatural.

I was there at the start, figured that I’d come through at the end.

Maybe.

Anyway, the last episode I watched was 10×10, so if anyone would like to recap the past four seasons in 2-3 sentences I’d be grateful.

Did Sam finally change his conditioner? Did Dean stop eating gravel for breakfast? Is Castiel dead? Is Bobby still being annoying from the grave? Is Mary dead again? Who is the heck is Jack and why should I care (also, is he still alive?) Is Jessica coming back? What happened to Wayward Sisters? Is Kripke writing the last episode (not that I would if I was him)?

All of those questions are rhetorical because I don’t care, but yes. I suppose I’ll touch base with you all in May (or whenever it ends).

Happy New Year + 2017 roundup.

Last year I posted… uh, well, not a lot. Or it wasn’t structured or cohesive at any rate.
That’s not going to change.

Supernatural watchers, I’m still on a hiatus/neveragainatus. However, all of the posts will remain up because a lot of them are still quite popular. I guess that’s either a testament to my great wit or the garbage that masquerades as the show these days. If you’d like to discuss the show, there’s an extremely dead open post on the sidebar and you can contact me via email (spnsnark[at]gmail etc).

There will be more movie and TV reviews on the way when I find something that doesn’t put me to sleep. I might even read a book! Or two.

Potentially Bad Moviethon lives on! Send me your recommendations.

The Girl Who Hates Everything does not live on. I love everything now. Seriously.

The Real World: Trump Administration…is on hiatus, much like the administration’s common sense. Same goes for the other political posts. I toyed with making a political blog but then I came to my senses. Life is depressing enough. Two blogs that do a better job than I ever did are Mock Paper Scissors and Trumptimestamp. Brexit no longer exists to me.

Most Popular Posts of 2017

Surprisingly (or not), they’re mostly Supernatural related. Ironically, I had my most views in a calendar year in 2017 despite posting about my blog topic sporadically. Life.

Here’s a selection:

1. The Real World: Trump Admin, Week 1. Back when we could laugh about it.

2. How To Straighten Your Nose in 3 Minutes. I highly recommend this.

3. Stupid and Senseless: Dean Cain

My ex-TV husband is currently languishing on BET and SyFy. And the CW. Maybe he should become a liberal.

4. Stupid & Senseless: Part Infinity, Jared Padalecki Treats [insert customer service representative] like shit.

Another ex-TV husband. I think I have bad taste in fictional husbands.

5. Killer Pet Dog Movie.

They most show this quite often? The best worst thing that Rob Morrow has ever done.

6. Stupid & Senseless: Jared Treating Someone Else Like Shit

Ugh.

My favourite post of 2017 is probably…

Too Mooch Too Soon & this delightful gem but I might be biased.

You know what, here’s everything I posted in 2017 for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

I’ll catch up with you guys later!

Too Mooch, too soon

Good news everyone!

White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci has been fired after fewer than 10 days in the post.

I’m sorry, but I have to go all Channing Tatum up in here.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Oh no he diiiiiiiiidn’t

This is too much.

This man missed the birth of his child to attend that embarrassing Boys Scout event and this is how Trump pays him back? He even got served with divorce papers because his wife was unhappy with his level of ass kissing. Still, that wasn’t enough to save him.

That’s cold-blooded. I almost feel sorry for him but he’s still a rich, privileged man. He will be fine.

I’m guessing it all went down like this.

Trump: Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the craziest and Presidential of them all!

Mirror: You are the craziest no more but Presidential you are!

Trump: What? No longer the craziest Lemme guess, Crooked Hillary has finally shown her true colours?

Mirror: No, sir, the honour has been bestowed on The Mooch! His legend grows and grows and he’s the talk of the talk shows and fake but also real news!

Trump; The who?

Mirror: Anthony Scaramucci, sir.

Trump: Yeah, I know that guy, but who’s The Mooch?

Mirror decides to speed the process up.

Mirror: The Mooch threatens all that you’ve worked hard for, sir. He’s taking away all of the attention!

Trump: Sad! How dare he? He’s finished in this town. Nobody makes crazy, inane statements but me, and occasionally Sean Spicer and that woman who replaced him – you know, the six point five – but also ME!!!!!

Mirror: He even threatened Priebus via Twitter, sir. It seems that he wanted to emulate you, sir.

Trump: NOBODY SENDS OUT RIDICULOUSLY HAM-FISTED TWEETS BUT ME!!

Mirror: Raise hand slowly, sir and let’s say the magic words together…

Trump stretches out his unnecessarily long tie and raises his hand, his finger curling as they say:

Trump/Mirror: You’re fired!

Of course, Gen. John Kelly was the one who actually fired Scaramucci. You see, when you push out the previous chief of staff who you don’t report to, you really need to make sure that the same applies for his replacement.

Scaramucci, you are the weakest link.
Goodbye!

Housekeeping (Blog Update)

It’s May already. Where does the time go?!

Many months ago, I contemplated leaving this blog. It served its purpose and I was ready to move on. I haven’t watched Supernatural since 2015. That’s a miracle given that I’ve watched it every year from 2005 to 2015. I persevered and I finally weaned myself off that show.

But, I kind of like having somewhere to ramble about TV/movies/current affairs/whatever. My other blog is more of a personal space, so I think this blog is a good place for all of that randomness. And I’m always ready to call out Jared Padalecki. Stupid and senseless will always have a home here.

Just to clarify – there are no new SPN recaps on the way. At least not until the show has an end date. See what I did there? Anyway, I have some Lifetime Snark coming up. A couple of TV posts. Maybe I’ll finally get around to watching RIPD. I will be hating on more things (of course).

Regarding the Trump posts, they’re not going to be weekly anymore.

The outcome of the healthcare bill they passed is grim. That a country that claims to be as open and free (well sort of) and have values, and actually care about its patriots can be so blasé about a basic human right (good healthcare) is appalling.

So, yeah, I’m not bothering with a post this week.

It’s just depressing, and now that there’s an upcoming election in the UK, I’m focusing on that (I would post about it but it’s…too depressing).

That being said, I’m going to try and post something political every other week at least. One good thing that’s come out of it is that I am far more knowledgeable than I was before. I definitely think it’s good to keep up with everything, just in case something personally affects you. Or you can just turn into a news junkie like me 😛
Anyway, yes.

Random aside: I watched the Teletubbies opening theme yesterday and I was CRYING. It was so bloody bizarre. And hilarious. Why do they have TVs on their screen? Who do they live in a weird isolated community? Why is the Sun a BABY? Why was this considered normal? LOL, I had so many questions, you don’t even know…What a throwback that was.

Automatic hand dryer adventures, Empire and One Big Happy (plus an update on the recaps)

Some don’t work. Some require you to do some sort of inverted, jazz hands for at least thirty seconds before they come on (at which point you’re already frustrated and about to leave and then you have to wait for another thirty seconds now that you know that it is actually working), and some are just kind of crazy. Every time I use one of the exuberant hand dryers I forget what it was like the previous time and ending reacting like this:

(Jared’s padanormous turbo charged nostril flare would probably cause the same reaction. :P)

Empire

Empire isn’t really my kind of show. I have an aversion to anything where people break out into songs, usually because I have a very bad attention span and it startles me LOL. I actually do really like the show though. Which is surprising given all the hype surrounding it! The only reason I even watched it now is because I had no internet so I was stuck with nothing to watch and I happened to have the first few episodes on hand. I might post a longer post on it later but if you’re thinking of checking it out, it’s pretty good.

One Big Happy

I know that I wrote a whole post on how terrible this show is but the following two episodes have been a lot better. It’s actually kind of funny in a quirky, offbeat kind of way. I’m still not feeling Nick Zano’s hair though. 😛

Recaps

I still haven’t watched an episode past the last one I did (the musical episode) and that won’t change for a while. At this point, I’d say there’s a 70/30 chance that I’ll do some episodes over the summer hiatus or just skip straight to the finale or something. I think this is the longest I’ve ever gone without watching the show, which is either awesome or sad, I haven’t really thought about it much, lol. I certainly don’t miss being visually and aurally assaulted by Sam’s haircut and Dean’s addiction to gravel. If all else fails, I will snark about the final *sniff but yay* season of The Mentalist (which I also can’t quite bring myself to watch just yet. Mon dieu!).

December is upon us!

And I haven’t done a recap or watched the show for about a month. Oh well. Apparently the show’s improved blah, blah, blah. People say this every year when the show starts off with five shitty episodes and then reaches such a particularly woeful level of shit that takes it takes another five episodes for them to realise that it didn’t get better, it was just slightly less shit than the REALLY SHITTY episode that preceded the ‘good’ episodes. I’ve got fandom’s number. And my armchair psychology diploma. I see everything.
