The Real World: Trump Administration, Week 2

It’s been another crazy week full of lies, lies, lies and more lies and the most bizarre Black History Month address I’ve ever read. Oh and Trump wants women to ‘dress like women’ probably so that he has maximum pussy access.

Ongoing Development

The Muslim Ban™ is also now in jeopardy.

Federal Judge James Robart ruled against government lawyers’ claims that US states did not have the standing to challenge Mr Trump’s executive order.

Trump’s response:

Well, his grammar is good at least. Everything else reeks of bullshit.

They filed an appeal and failed miserably. SAD.

Sigh.

In this week’s Donald Duck segment (wherein Trump dodges another campaign policy): he reneged his pledge to lower the price of drugs.

On Jan. 11, Trump said: “Pharma has a lot of lobbies, a lot of lobbyists and a lot of power. And there’s very little bidding on drugs. We’re the largest buyer of drugs in the world, and yet we don’t bid properly.”

Naturally, he’s now changed his mind.

When They Go Low, We Go High

Sally Yates sparked controversy after she refused to back the President’s travel ban which halted admission to refugees and as well as immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries.

After a federal judge ordered a review of the policy, Ms Yates announced that her staff at the Justice Department would not seek to defend it in court as she objected on grounds of conscience, writing in a letter to her staff that she wasn’t “convinced that the defense of the executive order is consistent with these responsibilities, nor am I convinced that the executive order is lawful.”

Naturally, Trump fired her.

Those of us that still have a shred of humanity left heard of and began to despise Neil Gorsuch within half a day. He seems like a great guy (!!!).

Gorsuch is pro-life, and the state of Arkansas seem to have taken comfort in this.

A new Arkansas law allows husbands to sue their wives for having abortions—even in cases of rape and incest – via Quartz.

Sigh.

Sean Spicer wants us all to be suspicious of five year olds.

Asked on Monday whether Trump’s order — which critics have called a “Muslim ban” — should apply to 5-year-old children, White House press secretary Sean Spicer gave a clear answer: yes.

“That’s why we slow [the process] down a little,” Spicer said at the daily press briefing. “To make sure that if they are a 5-year-old, that maybe they’re with their parents and they don’t pose a threat. But to assume that just because of someone’s age or gender or whatever that they don’t pose a threat would be misguided and wrong.”

How long until one of these idiots tries to detain a baby?

Re: Muslim Ban™

First it wasn’t a Muslim Ban™, then it was, then it wasn’t. And then it was fake news.

Luckily, Rudy Giuliani was happy to clear things up for us.

HOWEVER IT’S STILL NOT A BAN. /sarcasm

Everyone but Trump is aware that he’s merely a dangerous puppet for people like Steve Bannon, the evil producer of this hot mess masquerading as government.

Quote Of The Week

“If you are part of team Trump, you walk around with these gaping, seeping wounds every single day.” — Kellyanne Conway

The wounds must be in their brains.

You Do You

White supremacists will soon be free to express themselves. Bannon will be happy about that. And Black Lives Matter will probably considered more racist than any of those pigs. I am eagerly waiting for Stacey Dash’s commentary on this. She is truly clueless.

Taking Matters Into Your Own Hands

“I protested in the only way I knew how”

A politician explains his silent rebuke of Brexit leader Nigel Farage.

Bravo, sir. Bravo. NOW CAN WE PLEASE STICK ‘I’M STUPID’ post it notes on Trump and blame CNN. Please.

DUMB DEAL! DUMB DEAAAAL.

Apparently, Australia was the worst call Trump had because of the worst deal ever.

Personally, I think the worst deal ever occurred between Trump and his hair colourist because that mop on his head is literally yellow. I thought it was straw!

Here’s how the call went:

Trump: TAKE THEM BACK

Turnbull:…uh, they’re not there yet.

Trump: TAKE THEM BACK OR THE DEAL IS OFF

Turnbull: Again, they’re not there and we also agreed to take some of–

Trump: You know what, I’ve spoken to Ivanka (isn’t she lovely?) and Jared Kushner (great guy, tremendous man. Great) and I’ve made my decision. YOU’RE FIRED!

Turnbull: Uh…this is a joke, right?

Trump: *hangs up*

Of course, that’s just how I imagined it went down. Here’s how it happened.

Trump, according to the report, accused Australia of seeking to export the “next Boston bombers”.

The “one-off” refugee resettlement deal was announced in November with Obama agreeing to take an unspecified number of refugees from Australia’s offshore detention centres on Manus Island and Nauru.

Sounds like a….fair trade to me? Both countries come off looking douchey and everyone wins? Except for the immigrants of course, because y’know, why should their hardship inconvenience anyone? Smh.

Both Australian-run detention camps have been the subject of sustained criticism by the UN, human rights groups and other nations over systemic sexual and physical abuse of those detained, including rapes, beatings and the murder of one asylum seeker by guards; child sexual abuse; chronic rates of self-harm and suicide; dangerous levels of sustained mental illness, harsh conditions and inadequate medical treatment leading to several deaths. The deal with Australia does not commit the US to unconditionally accepting any number of refugees from Australia’s offshore detention islands. The deal only commits the US to allowing refugees to “express an interest” in being resettled in America. Any, even all, refugees may be rejected during the “extreme vetting” process.

Confusion over the exact nature of the deal – which neither government is prepared to reveal – has led to speculation the US could refuse to accept any refugees from the Australian-run offshore detention camps, citing failure at the extreme vetting stage, while still claiming to be “honouring” the deal.

To be continued, I suspect.

One should note that Australia have a horrible record and quite blatant disregard towards immigrants. If anything Trump putting them on blast has at least highlighted this.

Bannon wants to make like The Prodigy and be a firestarter:

Trump adviser Steve Bannon thinks there’s “no doubt” the US is headed for war in the South China Sea.

on what fucking basis? How is any of this the US’s problem?

Plus, y’all still need China. We all know that those outsourced jobs aren’t coming back to the States.

Almost Everything Went Wrong

Late Sunday, U.S. Central Command revealed several casualties were incurred during the first counter-terrorism military operation approved by President Donald Trump. One of these was the first U.S. service member to die during Trump’s presidency, who was later identified by the Los Angeles Times and other news outlets as Chief Special Warfare Operator William “Ryan” Owens of Peoria, Illinois. Yet as additional reports have come in, it appears the Yemen raid carried out by the Navy’s elite SEAL Team 6 didn’t necessarily go as planned.

I’m including this because this happens regardless of who’s in charge. Trump supporters think he has a magic wand but he doesn’t.

And you know damn well that his team tried to spin this.

To make matters worse, several noncombatants were killed during the firefight between American and Al Qaeda forces — including an 8-year-old American girl named Nawar al-Awlaki, the daughter of the New Mexico-born Anwar al-Awlaki who was killed in an airstrike in 2011.

Given that Trump essentially rushed into this, I’d say that the death of that girl is needless. This shouldn’t happen – period.

(Sources: Link 1 via Uproxx / Link 2 via NYTimes)

….and they can’t blame Obama for this one.

Obama administration aides had deliberated extensively over the proposed operation, weighing the value of any information that might be recovered against the risk to the Special Operations forces plunging into hostile territory. But administration officials ultimately opted to hand the decision on the mission to their successors

In a further development…

An attempt by the US military to defend Donald Trump’s first covert military operation fell apart on Friday, when a video the Pentagon cited as “valuable intelligence” snatched during the raid transpired to be more than a decade old, and available on the internet.

You’d think they’d do their research first, right?

Mr Trump is coming under increasing pressure to justify his authorisation of the attack which killed one US Navy SEAL, and several civilians. Human rights groups said some 23 people were killed in the raid, including up to ten children

10 children. That’s just…awful. Truly awful.

However, the spin machine continued.

Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary went even further, briefing that that the raid had gathered an “unbelievable amount of intelligence that will prevent the potential deaths or attacks on American soil”.

Sigh.

This woman was up to her old tricks again. Apparently making up massacres is all fine and dandy even though everyone can easily disprove it. Sigh.

Oh, Ms Conwoman.

Meanwhile, UK politicians are now dabbling in the art of alternative facts. One said: “Trump is a realist.”

I assume that he had a Kellyanne Conwoman moment and meant racist.

The former Norwegian PM fell foul of the immigration restrictions because he once dared to visit Iran, but in a shocking moment of media honesty, it was reported that this was part of restrictions passed by the Obama administration. Waiting for Trump to spin it into fake news regardless.

And finally, Trump is threatening to clean up Mexico’s bad hombres from within. But I guess Mexico will be paying for it, right? Trump surely wouldn’t send tax funded military into Mexico, would he?

Maybe he can form some kind of Bad Hombre Termination Squad and then find a movie studio to make it happen on screen.

Either way, the stupidity has only increased since last week.

  1. LOL-ing over your account of the Trump-Turnbull phone call haha. Yep, Australia’s appalling treatment of boat refugees is shameful & having the issue further highlighted is a good thing to come out of that incident.

Not much to ‘lol’ about in week 2 shiver :(. I know the word ‘surreal’ gets overused these days, but this whole situation is surreal. Trump reminds me of Kim Jong-un. A ludicrous, almost comical figure, who’s also a scary, dangerous narcissist/sociopath in charge of an entire country. The fact that the country in question is the US, with a popln of 310mill, holder of the world’s reserve country & supposed bastion of freedom & democracy, is f#cking terrifying. And surreal.

I feel so sorry for the majority of Americans who voted against him. Given globalisation, we’re all gonna be affected tho. The idea of a US-China war in the South China Sea is frightening & would be especially serious for Australia, not least b/c it’d be in our backyard & our economy is dependant on China/Asia.

    1. Haha, glad to amuse you! It’s just a shame that it will be overlooked by Trump’s continuing madness. I’m almost tired of hearing about him.

It just keeps getting worse. It is surreal. He is basically a dictator but like, one set in that N’sync video ‘No Strings Attached’. You can literally see that he’s a puppet for Bannon and his other evil henchmen.

Yes. I couldn’t have said it better. It’s just crazy.

I feel sorry for them too, esp the ones who still believe in him. They are in for a rude awakening. We can only hope that there’s some serious impeachment and removals before those idiots actually start a war.

      Thanks for the comment! 🙂
